Here at Gellite, we pride ourselves on having the best gel candles in the market. For us to introduce a new fragrance takes a good amount of time. We start of with an idea of what fragrance we would like to add and then start searching for the best smelling fragrance that will create a truly great candle. We get in the sample oils and first off, give them a good old whiff. Some pass and some will make your hair curl.

Next up is a multi-step testing process to make sure they are compatible with the candle gel (many fragrances aren’t). This eliminates over half of the choices.

If they have made it this far, they go into a sample batch of candles. We make up a couple of sizes for burning and some just to sit around. The burn test lets us know that the candle will burn completely without tunneling and will be up to our standards. This also shows us the throw of the scents and how well you will smell them in your home.

This process usually leaves us with a number of fragrances to consider. We get a number of peoples opinions and then we select the winner.

This brings us to our latest round of candle fragrance testing, and the winner is … Gardenia. This a wonderful fragrance that has blends of gardenia with hints of lily of the valley and jasmine. We have decided to keep the candle colorless so it is a true resemblance to the white gardenia flower.

One of the first people that we notified of this new introduction was Daisy G of New Jersey who said “Gardenia happens to be one of my favorite flowers”.
